1810 July 25.  Dennis Buchman was born in an unknown location to unknown parents.  In some records he is listed as Dennis Buchman, “Junior” and his father as Dennis Buchman, Senior.  In other records his father's name is listed as "Jacob." 1815 (approximately). Age 5 or 6. Arrived in the United States, settled in Indianland. Member of Saint Paul's Church.

Dennis Buchman and Sarah Anthony (born 11 June 1815) were married in an unknown location on an unknown date (most likely somewhere in Lehigh Township of Northampton County, Pennsylvania around 1841).

1850 Census.  September 1.  Age 39 (should be 40).  Lock Keeper (likely on the Lehigh Canal).  Living in the Lehigh Township of Northampton County, Pennsylvania with his wife Sarah (35), and Wm. (17) (is this Wilhelm a son from a first marriage?), and their three children, Ann (8), Henry Harrison (7), and Jane Amanda (4).  Also living with them are Sarah Anthony (70) (his wife’s mother?), Moses Anthony (26) a Boatman (his wife’s brother?), and Matilda Anthony (22) (Moses’ wife? or his wife and Moses'’s sister?).

1860 Census.  August 11.  Age 50.  Day Laborer.  Living in Lehigh Township, Northampton County near Cherryville, Pennsylvania with his wife Sarah (46), Henry Harrison (17) a Boatman, Jane Amanda (10), Alfred Ossman (4) and Anna E. Laubach (19 – their oldest daughter who had married Daniel Laubach on ?). Dennis Buchman’s birth recorded (apparently inaccurately) as having been in Pennsylvania.

1884 January 4.  Dennis Buchman died in Lehigh Township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania at the age of 73 years, 5 months and 10 days.  According to notes made by the Reverend J. W. Mabry of the Saint Paul’s Church in Indianland he was, “Killed, fall down stairs.”   Dennis Buchman is buried next to his wife Sarah in the Saint Paul’s Church cemetery, Indianland, Pennsylvania.

 
         
 
 

Alfred Ossman (A. O.) Buchman, born on 13 July 1856 in Indianland, Pennsylvania. At the time of his birth he had two older sisters, Anna Emma (14), and Jane Amanda (9) and one older brother, Henry Harrison (13). He was the youngest of four known children of Dennis and Sarah Anthony Buchman.

September 8 1856, Alfred Ossman Buchman was baptized in the Saint Paul's Union Church of Indianland, Pennsylvania.

1880 Census, age 23, living in the Eagle Hotel, Coplay, PA. Occupation listed as "work at furnace."

1886 June 26.  Alfred Ossman Buchman (30) and Margaret Jane Woods (26) were married by the Reverend Charles. S. Kohler at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Catasauqua, Pennsylvania.

1889 Moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana. Father of seven children. Worked as an insurance agent. Died 22 March 1934. Alfred Ossman Buchman is buried next to his wife Margaret, their daughters Lillian, Blanche, Evelyn and Vera; her mother’s brother Richard Gotleib Foss, and Evelyn’s friend Peggy Albright in Section 9 of the Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana.  Also buried in Lindenwood, but in another section, is their infant son Marshall.

 

 
         
 
 

Born Alfred Rosman Buchman, later Ross Alfred Buchman, on 12 March 1893 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. At the time of his birth Ross had three older sisters, Mary Madelia (deceased), Lillian (3), Blanche (2).  He was the fourth of seven children. 

1901 February 7.  Age 7.   His younger brother Marshall O. Buchman died of diphtheria at the age of 1 year, 5 months and 10 days.

1910 Census  April 21.  Age 17.  Tester at an Electric Factory.  Living in Fort Wayne, Indiana at 2610 Smith Street, with his father Alfred (53), mother Margaret (50); and his four sisters Lillian (20), a Typewriter operator at (the Physician’s) Defense Company, Blanche (19) a Milliner (hat maker), Vera (15) and Evelyn (13).

1917 May 20.  Age 24.  Enlisted in US Army.  Assigned to the 322nd Field Artillery. Promoted to sergeant. Fought in World War One.

1923  December 22. Age 30.  Married Dessie Virginia Harding (age 23). Worked as a wholsale clerk for Fisher Brothers Paper Company.

1969 May 1.  Died in Fort Wayne, Indiana at the age of 76 years, 1 month and 19 days. Buried next to his wife Dessie, and near his in-laws Robert and Cora Harding, in the International Order of Odd Fellows Cemetery near New Haven, Indiana.

 
         
 
  Marshall Harding Buchman, was born 24 July 22 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  He was an only child.

1930 Census. April 5.  Age 5.  Living at 2415 Weisser Park, Fort Wayne, Indiana (valued at $3,200.00, with a radio set in the home) with his father Ross Alfred (37) a Wholesale Clerk and World War (One) veteran, and his mother Dessie Virginia (30).

1943 June 16.  Age 19.  Enlisted into the U.S. Army. Served in World War II.

1954 June 5.  Age 29.  Married Winifred Eloise Geddes (33) at Trinity United Methodist Church, New Albany, Indiana.

1959 June 7.  Age 34.  Earned Medical Doctor (MD) degree from The University of Louisville, Louisville, Kentucky.

2003 July 2.  Age 78.  His wife Winifred Eloise Geddes Buchman died in New Albany Indiana at the age of 82 years, 2 months and 29 days.

 
         
 
 

Joseph Geddes Buchman was born 21 January 1958 in Floyd Memorial Hospita, New Albany, Indiana.

May 1989. Age 31. Earned Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Telecommunications from Indiana University, Bloomington.

27 July 1993. Age 35. Married Cindy Jean Owens Arnim, a widow and mother of two daughters, Kelsey (5) and Hayley (1) in Salt Lake City, Utah.

24 December 1994. Age 36. A son, Kristian Sean Buchman, was born.

31 July 1997. Age 39. A daughter, Anna Marie Buchman, was born,
